I was pumping gas today, huddled in a big ol' green coat and wearing what I call my "first grade teacher" dress outfit, that no-ironing-requiring, get-ready-in-5-minutes-for-work miracle orange turtleneck 'n jumper. I set the stage only to illustrate that I was NOT, I repeat NOT, dressed like an old lady. I'm at least a few decades from the days

I think the old woman is one of those wierd people that use the 3rd person too often. As in "how are we doing to day" "We (I) are great!" Stuid thing. Maybe she's too fat and thinks of herself as 2 people...???
But she was def talking about herself (and maybe her alter-ego... or she might have an 80-year-old imaginary friend!!)
