Mimi: Matty, you are SUCH a douche.
Matt: I am
Matt: Now
Matt: Cry more, Mimi >D
Mimi: ;_; Mmkay.))
Wellington: *After being released from his hour long visit to the infirmary, Wellington goes straight back to the same room he had been taken from for his interrogation with Edgeworth. Not seeing Matt anywhere, he tries going back towards the cellblock. On the way, he spots the red and white of the former actor's jacket down an adjacent hallway and quickly waves to get his attention.* Matt, is that you?
Matt: *Looking up, Matt grins as he spots Wellington, greeting him with a wave too. He motions for the other man to follow him.* Welly, where have you been? Where did those guards take you to? Was it a visitor?
Wellington: *catches up to Matt and walks next to him* They took me to talk to some guy named Prosecutor Edgeworth. He asked me a lot of questions, and then I was sent to the infirmary.
Matt: Prosecutor Edgeworth? ...*Tilts his head as he continues walking.* Nope. Doesn't ring a bell! What kind of questions did he ask you anyway?
Wellington: Really? He acted like he knew you. ...He was asking me what happened about a week ago, but I don't remember. *pauses for a moment, thinking* ...But the things he said about you didn't sound right. He said you injured me and are taking advantage of my amnesia.
Matt: ..*His expression doesn't change in the slightest, though he tells himself to remember that for later.* He lied to you about me? Wow! What a jerk! Why did he want to know about last week?
Wellington: He was going to fire a guard, I think. He wanted me to tell him what happened. I couldn't help, though. *sighs*
Matt: …Don't worry about it, dude. I'm sure you helped out a lot. *Rounds a corner and stops in front of a closed door.* What about the infirmary? What happened there?
Wellington: *shrugs tiredly* They just examined my head and asked me a lot about what I remember. Then they said they couldn't do anything and they let me leave. ...I wish they could; it's hard not remembering anything. They did tell me it might come back on its own, though. So I'm going to just keep trying to remember as much as I can.
Matt: *Frowns at that statement, crossing his arms over his chest. His voice takes a serious tone.* Wellington.
Wellington: *smiles a little and looks up at him* Matt?
Matt: Try to just relax okay. *Reaches out to pat Wellington on the shoulder.* I'm taking good care of you, aren't I?
Wellington: Yeah. *nods once, still smiling* ...I'll relax.
Matt: Good. Now, if something like that happens again. Don't mention me, okay? Just say that you don't remember anything bad happening, cause nothing bad happened, right?
Wellington: *nods again* Yeah. I can't figure out why he was bringing it up. You wouldn't do that.
Matt: Exactly. *Pats his shoulder again before lowering his arm.* Do you feel better?
Wellington: I do, Matt. I feel fine.
Matt: Good. Now, you sit out here and when Mimi comes along, she's the cute redhead, you let her come in, but nobody else, no matter what. Got it?
Wellington: Okay. *walks to the side of the hall opposite of the door and sits down next to the wall* I'll wait here, then.
Matt: Good. I'll wait inside then. *Grins at Wellington before opening the door to the closet and stepping inside. Shutting the door behind him, he smoothes his jacket down before leaning against the back wall, waiting for Mimi to show up.*
Mimi: *It takes her a few minutes, but Mimi heads straight to their meeting spot just as she said she would. Seeing Wellington sitting outside the closet door throws her a bit, but she chooses to ignore him for the time being as she pushes past to open the door, stepping into the small space with a slightly disgruntled expression.*
Mimi: You know Matty, your boy’s new attitude is starting to creep me out a bit. Are you keeping him drugged?
Matt: *Matt grins as she steps into the room, moving closer to her instantly. A small chuckle erupts from his throat.* Naw, I just beat a little sense into him and now he does everything I tell him to. He's been running errands for me all day. *Pausing but only for a brief moment, he doesn't give her enough time to respond before he reaches up and takes a firm hold under her chin. Once his...
Matt:...hand is secure, he kisses her hard and almost too roughly, nothing like the softer kisses he usually reserves for her.*
Mimi: *The woman’s back presses to the wall, head tilted back by the hand on her neck and the force of Matt’s lips. She hadn’t been anticipating the move, and the displeased sound that escapes her is nearly lost against his mouth. Her hands raise to push back against his chest, twisting a bit against his hold.*
Matt: *His lips twisting into a smirk, he leans back, releasing her mouth but not her neck. His tone drops down.* Mimi... I know what you did. *His fingers instinctively tighten at his own words, not enough to cut off air, just to keep her in place.*
Mimi: *Mimi’s breath catches regardless, her entire form tensing. It’s dark in the closet, but not so dark that the man wouldn’t be able to see the dawning expression of fear across her features. Instantly, she begins to think of what to say to pacify him, or better yet, just how far she would have to reach to get the door to the closet open.*
Matt: Do you have anything to say, Mimi? About lying to me. About almost getting me killed when Godot found out I was the one who sent the failed hit on him. *He leans in closer, his grip loosening just slightly to let her speak.* Anything at all?
Mimi: It-- *She gives a dry swallow once the pressure on her neck lessens, and presses the palms of her hands to the wall she’s backed up against.* It had to be done. *She darts her wide-eyed gaze to the side, towards the door.*
Matt: *He presses up against her, pinning her even closer to the wall.* I thought we were in agreement, Mimi. * He pauses, giving her head a small shake.* Look at me. You can't lie in a relationship. If you wanted him dead, you should have told me. You should have told me *His voice takes a sharp tone as it rises in volume.* JUST WHAT HE DID. DO YOU GET IT YET, MIMI?
Mimi: Y-Yes! *There’s nowhere for the woman to shrink back to, and once his voice raises she begins to panic, twisting and struggling to pull away the hand still at her neck.*
Matt: *His grip loosens, though keeps her against the wall as he leans away, his face completely blank. He waits for her to stop struggling.*
Mimi: *She can’t break free, that much is painfully obvious now, and Mimi’s struggles cease for the time being. One hand still clutches at his wrist, her breathing shallow, though still quiet.*
Matt: *Changing his tone so that he sounds like he is on the verge of sadness, Matt shakes his head slowly, back and forth.* Do you even realize what you've done..?
Mimi: I... H-How was I supposed to know that your hit man would fail? *She gasps defensively, and if not for the terrified expression on her face, it could have almost been mistaken for an accusation.* It... all would have been just fine if he had done his job..!
Matt: *His expression (or lack of expression) doesn't change.* I can't trust you anymore, Mimi.
Mimi: *She’s silent, and motionless save for her fingers giving a small twitch against his wrist, grip tight.*
Matt: It's...too bad. *He releases his hands, crossing both arms over his chest before moving between her and the door, making sure she can't escape just yet.* Especially since you need me now.
Mimi: *Her eyes dart to door, and her teeth clamp down onto her bottom lip as she cringes back into the corner of the closet.* Matt-- *She ventures in a pleading tone.* You.. you don't understand, I-- someone had to eventually--...
Matt: *The moment he hears the pleading in her voice, a small smile works its way onto Matt's face before his expression turns somber again. That is exactly what he wants to hear. He sighs, loudly, as if he is feeling very conflicted. He looks to the side, away from her.* Tigre and Godot won't be so understanding, Mimi... You wouldn't believe how upset they were.
Mimi: *It's too dark in the closet to see the man's expression clearly with the distance between them, so she stays pressed into her corner, quaking softly. Until that point her terror had been focused singularly on Matt-- but now the idea of those two coming after her as well is
Mimi: planted firmly in her head.* N..ngh.. *The sound that leaves her is pathetic, and she curls her fingers in the hem of her sweater, twisting and tugging at the material.* M-Matt, please...!
Matt: *He turns his head to her.* Please what, Mimi?
Mimi: Y-You can't... you won't seriously let-- I-I wouldn't stand a chance against them alone..!
Matt: And that's exactly why I feel bad about leaving you now. *His voice lowers.* At least, I would feel bad if you hadn't lied to me.
Mimi: *The woman begins to tremble uncontrollably then, and very distantly in the back of her mind she wonders how much longer she’s got until her legs simply give out.* I.. I had to though...! You wouldn’t have done it if.. *She groans, and to her further horror can feel the prickle of tears forming in the corners of her eyes.*
Matt: *Matt can practically feel her shaking from the other side of the closet and he realizes that now is the time to strike. In two quick steps he is at her side. Though he only says one word, he makes it sound caring.* Mimi... *One arm slips around her shoulders as he waits to see if she will either compose herself or break down.*
Mimi: *Mimi lets out a loud gasp as she all but crumbles into the man. Never-mind the fact that just minutes ago his hands had been around her neck. She covers her face as she trembles and begins to cry, terror overwhelming the last of her senses.*
Matt: *Smirking to himself the moment she falls into him, he wraps his other arm around her and holds her close as she cries.* Shhh. I won't let them hurt you, Mimi. *One hand reaches up to stroke her hair softly.*
Mimi: *She presses her forehead to his chest, seizing onto the offered comfort. Her eyes squeeze shut, but there’s no stopping her tears just yet as she grips desperately to his form.* A-Anything..! *She manages to choke out, gasping.* Anything you want j-just... don’t leave me alone with them...!
Matt: *At the promise of anything he wants, Matt holds onto her tighter, grinning to himself.* I won't. I promise I won't let anyone else touch you at all. You are mine.
Mimi: *The woman draws in a deep, shivering breath, and nods against him quickly, gripping onto the back of his jacket. She’s trapped on all sides now, and the thought alone is enough to keep the tears rolling, but at least beneath Matt’s protection she can be spared from another, far more violent alternative.*
Matt: *Now knowing that there is no way she'd ever lie or plot against him again, not with the threat of Diego and Tigre over her head, Matt breaths a small sigh of relief. She now has no choice but to be completely under his control. Pressing a kiss to her forehead, he chuckles softly.* You are fine now, Mimi. Just keep making me happy and I'll keep you safe.
Mimi: *Her mind is still racing much too fast for Matt’s words to really sink in. And it’s with a quiet moan of defeat that she goes lax in his arms, holding on weakly as if to keep herself from drowning in self pity.*
