I want to go to my gay friends' weddings, dammit! And I want those marriages to be legally recognized. It will happen. I truly believe that inevitably the tide will turn and gay couples will not be disenfranchised as they have been this election. Wow, is that a spark of hope disrupting my usually stormcloud black demeanour? So be it!

And about the "sanctity" of marriage--affairs abound. And these affairs and breakdowns in the marriage don't happen because gay people are sabotaging the supposedly morally superior hetero unions.

I would like to see protests staged in California: hundred and hundreds of same-sex couples making out in public places. I want those voters who decided to take away people's rights confronted by the image of men and men and women and women kissing around every corner. Is that petty? Or perhaps just childish of me. Still, it would be lovely to show that gay couples aren't going to be crammed back into the closet with the mothballs.
