Starting on the first day of a brand spanking new year, you can get fined if your license plate holder even marginally obscures the word "Arizona" on your license plate. The only benefit I can see is that we will see far fewer car dealership plateholders spamming advertisements into our highway-focused brains.

No such luck! My friend's car dealership sent her a letter offering to replace her current license plate holder with a new one designed not to obscure the word. They've already figured out a way to continue to hawk their wares. That's capitalism for you ;)
