[Text] Entry #016

So, I've been working on a theory I have regarding why we may have been brought here. Based on something Doctor Wesker told me, I've started to think maybe it's not us the Queen wants so much as it is our mirrors and so she picks us based on what she thinks our mirrors might be like. To what end, I'm not sure - why anyone would want my mirror ( Read more... )

Hadn't thought of that one.

Have you met your mirror personally?

Neither did I until recently.

Not face to face. I just get to hear the aftermath of her trails of destruction. Or witness, in that last instance. I think she's tried to provoke me via the mirrors before, too, but I know responding would be a bad idea.

They aren't all like that. I know a few who seem nice enough.

Oh? And dare I ask what their real counterparts are like?

The mirrors are loyal to her. Even if they're complete crazy people they like the queen. The only thing you need to know about my mirror is not to get excited if you see him and to stay the fuck away from him.

If you're so curious why don't you talk to them?

Well I guess that explains why she prefers them. Still, there has to be something in the fact that without us, they wouldn't exist.

I will. I just wanted to see what the others on this side had to say first.

There probably is but it's not like anyone can control that they're here.

Neither side likes the other very much.

Except her.

That much I've begun to gather. I'm still interested to know more before I decide to approach them directly.

I like to think the mirrors are real. Just different.

[Although she did have a good theory or guess, one that Minato hadn't thought about before.]

So do you think they'd survive even without us here?

You mean continue to exist despite our return home?

Yeah. I mean, we can't test the "even if we died" theory and if we could I wouldn't want to. But there has to be some benefit to keeping us here and alive.

Your mirror's fun.

That's really all I need to know on her, thanks. I haven't forgotten what happened the first time you met her.

We had even more fun this time! You should totally be happy that we get along.

I'm ecstatic. Really I am. So ecstatic that we will never speak of it again.

It makes no sense for her to bring useless people here. If it was for the strength of our mirrors, she'd bring here weak people who's mirrors would be superior.

Consider the story more closely. The Queen of Hearts had no role in Alice's arrival to Wonderland. It's far more likely we have done something to get ourselves pulled in rather than were chosen. We could very well be parasites to this world, taking as we do what we like from it, and these events and mirrors are a form of antibody, the world's way of trying to get rid of us. Far more things work in those terms than in trying to define ourselves as somehow special.

That rather depends what she wants us for. If she just wants people to serve her, does it really matter how strong they are?

Perhaps that's true, except why would the mansion pull in things it knows to be bad for it? If it didn't want us here, why would it keep drawing us in unless the Queen actually is in charge here and doesn't care?

I'm not saying we're special. I'm not even saying I'm right. I'm just trying to make sense of something that seems to exist on very little of it.

Curiosity drew Alice in, nothing of Wonderland itself. It was pure choice. Somehow we chose to be here or met some requirement that would gain us access.

Somehow I very much doubt that. I think on my list of choices I made the day I came here, waking up in some weird mansion where crazy things happen on a regular basis was definitely not there.
