OK, I'm in the shit.

Having spent the last six months saying "I-can't-see-the-point-of-us-having-stag-&-hen-do's-cos-last-night-of-freedom-is-a-meaningless-concept-at-this-point-in-our-relationship", ellistar has just done a complete about-face and arranged his stag do over dinner last night

What time of day were you thinking of? Cos there's nothing wrong with the old faithful evening option of piling everyone into one living room with cushions and pizza and more wine than you can possibly drink, and a bunch of silly games as the ostensible thing to be doing while you in fact gossip/reminisce/froth. Gives you the afternoon as an option for something more virtuous if pricy like aromatherapy or saunas or dry slope skiing or whatever random occupation takes your fancy*.

The thing I cherish most about my own hen night was simply having the time and space to sit and talk with friends without interruption.

The idea of going to some previously unplayed system and having an all female party romp through it seriously appeals...

It's your party, you should do what appeals.

As Em might remember, the Penar system ran a one-off for the ladies; Someone was getting married, and the rare/magically imbued fabric for the dress was not allowed to be seen by male eyes until the day itself, so the ladies were the escort to get this precious stuff to the bride/seamstresses. The gentlemen naturally played hordes of monsters, from leering orcs to insouciant mandarkins. Not a bad day all in all.

There are always the old chestnuts:
- going out to dinner
- going to a comedy club
- booking some sort of all day course, like a cookery course or a pole dancing class
- getting someone like an Ann Summers or make-up woman round (too girlie for my blood!)
- having a day in when everyone who is invited has to bring some sort of craft or activity e.g face painting

Have a look on the web - if you googel search "hen night ideas" you'll get a lot of dross, but there just might be something that appeals.
