Just when people thought Arizona couldn't get any more batshit insane, you went and topped yourselves and made us even more of a national laughingstock than Florida.

The astounding lack of understanding about basic reproductive biology simply staggers the mind...

How in the name of everlasting holy FUCK can you be pregnant when the egg produced in that menstrual cycle fuckin' died about 14 days BEFORE you started shedding the endometrial lining??????

Jesus H. K. Rockefeller Christ...

Back in the Dark Ages, the last menstrual period, or LMP, was the official medical way of calculating when a pregnancy began. There was no way to tell exactly when conception might have occurred; instead, they figured that the LMP indicated the last time a woman couldn't have been pregnant. It's at least theoretically possible that she might have conceived immediately after she stopped bleeding, so to be on the safe side, they declared that to be the official start of the pregnancy. But in practice, doctors knew that conception probably occurred a week or two later than that ( ... )

Back in the Dark Ages

By which you mean present-day Arizona, yes?

I never dreamed, when I moved here five years ago, that the place was so fucked up and bassackwards. I knew about Shurf Joe, of course, but I figured he was an outlier backed by his own extremely loud posse, nothing more.

Oh, they know. This is a red herring/obfuscating stupidity move. The goal is to make abortion so difficult to obtain that women just give up (not that it'll work, but you know).

Thankfully, I can't get pregnant at all barring a biblical level miracle (tubes tied 20 years ago, my partner is female) but I feel for anyone who has to put up with this insanity.

Ahem...not the only ones. And those against the Reproductive Health bill just happened to be notorious womanizers. Hmph...

Shocked, SHOCKED I am to find politicians using other people's words out of context, refusing to ask permission first, then acting like it's no big deal when they're called out.
