Sometimes, you have to give out what it is that you want to take in.

If you want people to be nice, then be nice. If you want people to love you, then spend more time loving.  If you want to live in a peaceful world, then be more peaceful.  And, in my particular case - if you want a dedicated loving partner, then be more dedicated and loving.
