Lesson from the weekend. Always use the metal detector before drilling into walls, especially walls between the gas meter and the gas oven.

Yes. Gas off within 20 seconds, and repaired today, so only a day or so with no heating or oven.

Oh, dear. Thank goodness for warm dry weather. At least I won't now feel foolish for hesitating before drilling.

Also -- don't drill into a wooden conduit containing electrical wires.
