Okay, I will go with hand guns. Yes. There are some situations where a person might need a HAND GUN, but a semi-automatic weapon?? Come on. What normal person is going to get themselves in a situation where they're going to need a semi-automatic weapon? It might sound exciting and fun to own such a weapon, but imagine that kind of weapon in the wrong hands. Aren't there enough kids these days doing stupid things with regular old hand guns. What kind of damage can they do with a weapon of that magnitude? Sometimes I think people forget how fragile life really is. People think they're so invincible, but in reality we have no power at all.

If you're worried about children obtaining the guns, shouldn't you be more concerned with how weapons are maintained by their parents? I would imagine that ensuring parents lock up their weapons would be more important (and more crucial).

I'm going to keep mine in a steel safe which will be bolted to the floor, so I'm not concerned with my personal weapons 'getting into the wrong hands.' Given that I have no control whatsoever over the extension of the ban, and that my personal weapons will not cause the injury or death of anyone, there is no reason for me not to own them, so long as I abide by the rules required by safety.

I know that you'll be careful with your guns. I'm not against you having guns. I mean what did I agree to today. I meant in general. I think this ban should be renewed just for the public's general safety. Some people out there just want a gun because it's "cool", but they're careless and won't bother to learn the about safety. Just for everybody's sake I hope this ban is renewed. Sorry!! Plus...guns are scary!!

You can't put the pants on a pedaphile and expect him to not take them off. Criminals are going to get guns if they want 'em and you all know it ain't hard. If your concern is the careless handling by gun owners, why not simply require experience and education for a person to own a gun?

Think outside the box--before I blow it up with an RPG!

I read the Article and I am going to agree with you on this one. I got a question for you, Do you know where I can sign up for NRA? I know you can go to the gun shows but the gun show wont be around for a little while. thought you might know.

The ban has been lifted, but you're not that lucky because California has its own ban!!
