A quiet knock on the door.
Gently, Hikaru pushed it open after a weak “Come in” coming from inside the room. He walked to the bed, and set down a thermos on the bedside table.
“You idiot,” he sighed, settling down on the chair next to the bed, “who asked you to go running out in the rain without an umbrella?”
She sniffed.
“There’s no need to rub salt into open wounds, Hikaru-kun. I’m miserable enough as it is, can’t you see?”
“Hai, hai,” Hikaru laughed, “I brought you some soup.”
Retrieving a bowl, he poured some steaming liquid out from the thermos container, before setting it before her with a soup spoon.
She eyed it suspiciously.
“…Did you cook this yourself?”
“Would it make you feel better if I said no?”
“Much better,” she grinned, giggling when he pouted at her.
“My cooking skills aren’t that bad!”
She reached up to poke his cheek.
“Chicken soup’s very hard to make, Hikaru-kun. I’d rather not run the risk of food poisoning or anything. But thanks for the soup!”
Propping herself up against the pillows, she reached for the bowl of soup, only to instantly draw back her hand the moment she touched the porcelain.
“Ah, it’s hot!”
Hikaru sighed.
“Here, I’ll cool it for you.”
Dipping the spoon into the soup to scoop out a spoonful of soup, he blew on it gently.
“Say Ah~”
She scowled at him.
“Mou~ I’m not five anymore!”
“Just open your mouth.”
Huffing in mock annoyance, she opened her mouth to let him feed her the soup.
“…It’s delicious,” she said after a pause, and he grinned at her, giving her a thumbs-up.
Spoonful by spoonful, he finished feeding her the soup.
“Hm,” she sighed, leaning back again on the pillows, “maybe I should run in the rain more.”
“You’ll get sick!” Hikaru yelped, shaking a finger at her, “I’m positively outraged that you’d wish for such a thing, young lady!”
She laughed.
“If I get sick more often, my boyfriend will bring me soup more often, see. He doesn’t cook for me on a regular basis.”
Hikaru groaned.
“Fine. I’ll cook for you once a week. Just don’t fall sick like that again!”
“Yay~!”
Shaking his head, Hikaru got up.
“I’ll let you sleep now,” he said, “so you can get better faster, alright?”
She nodded, pulling the blanket up.
“When I wake,” she asked in a tiny voice as he was about to leave the room, “can I have more soup?”
“Yes,” he laughed, “Yes you can.”
She beamed at him, and he silently closed the door again as she fell into a deep sleep.

When she next opened her eyes she saw a mountain of Campbell soup cans.
“Hikaru~~~~~!” she wailed indignantly, and heard him chuckle from behind the cans.
“Well,” he reasoned, “you did say you wanted soup.”
