~squees~ melisande88 has written what she calls a hg/ss PWP entitled Clock Watching (even though I clearly see some plot there - LOL), and she's also asked a very good question: Where has all the smut gone?

She has a point. As a sshg_exchange mod, I can testify that when matching prompts, we run out of people willing to write smut before we run out of people who ask

Really? Man... see I I'd almost rather write nothing but good for nothing smutty, dirty, orgasmic sex! I know the muse has been a total bitch with me this month, so maybe I'll do some smutty one offs to get her in the mood to pony up some Snape/Hermione angst.

Ooo - must go and have a lovely afternoon read. I find I tend not to write smut, but concentrate more on the emotions, the foreplay if you will, with any smut being almost the icing on the cake if you will. I find it so hard to write ~cough~ but sometimes it just sneaks into the story and works. Other times, yeah, no not happening.
