HOLY NEAT

UM SO THIS IS REALLY COOL not only because I really like octopuses but because their intellect is advancing in a visible way and that is so cool! So so cool!

Also it is impressive how the BBC has several videos relating to tool-using animals.

Also also my cat is being really adorable right now. Although not using any tools. SOPHIA GET SMARTER WHY

I already thought octopuses were amazing. Now I don't know what to think. Maybe they've moved into the Legitimate Threat to Humanity category.

Get your cat two coconut shells. Maybe she will hide in them.

Dude, I was a little nervous while watching that video. If they learn to survive outside of water? Oh, man. I'm worried.

Hah, I will work on it. She does hide in tiny cave-like formations (like under tables and chairs) quite a lot, but she doesn't like, carry things with her to hide in. I think that puts her a step below an octopus.

I believe the word you're looking for is "octopi."

If you're going to get that technical, it's really octopodes, which is awesome but also people look at you weird when you say it.

Seconded. Root is Greek, not Latin. Never correct a linguist.

Greek plurals are so funny. Syllabuses? Syllabi? No bitches, syllaBONTES. They delight me.

You know, my old dog Annie had some tool-using ability. She'd regularly grab a stick and dip it into the water sideways at the edge of river ice to check the water depth. I was always impressed by that.

God, I miss her sometimes.

Dude, that is so cool, oh my god! Dogs are impressive. (I accidentally typed "Gods are impressive" first, which I also like.)

I know what you mean, with the missing =( my childhood cat didn't have any sweet tool-using ability, but she was a pretty great cat, regardless.

My penis adopted a form of coconut-based defense to escape and hinder the fury of my violent fists...the scary part is that I can say its as smart as an octopus.
