Draining An Abcess - Metaphorically Speaking

Good afternoon. I'm taking 10 minutes out of my lunch hour to express frustration on a topic I know many of you also feel frustration with: shitheads ( Read more... )

Preach on, brother. The worst of it (IMO) is that they create an additional mini-slowdown when they inevitably have to merge back onto the road, so they're actually making things worse.

I comfort myself by imagining them in hell, stuck behind a semi going uphill, where nobody makes room for them to change lanes and go around. Or something.

The good news is, another co-worker of mine was also stuck in the backup (his story is worse than mine - left at 7, got here after 1 PM!) and said that CHP motorcycle officers were patrolling the sides of the freeway to keep people from doing that crap.

That reminds me of the last time I visited Dodger Stadium. In the parking lot melee which follows every Dodgers game, inevtitably there are lines that form towards the few exits from each of the parking lots. We were in line when some shithead cuts across all the open space and tries to cut off the line of cars which snaked around the rest of the lot.

He got right up to the front when a security officer came from around the front of the line where she was directing traffic and stood right in front of his car. She told him to turn around and get to the end of the line. She basically castrated him right then and there, then held his balls up for all to see. Everyone cheered, honked their horns, etc.

The guy gunned his engine and tried to force his way in, but his only way through was through her, and even he wasn't that much of a dick. So he backed up, squealed his tires and turned around to get in line. It was pure awesomeness. :)

More power to you, the Vigilante Nissan! There's a spot on our fucked-up portion of 101 where the rightmost lane disappears and cars in it are warned ahead of time to merge left into traffic, or right into the exit-only lane. It never ceases to baffle me how many people wait not just until that lane ends, but who try to skirt on until there physically is no more room and they HAVE to join us poor saps who, you know, follow traffic rules.
