Character: Zexion
Series: Kingdom Hearts
Version: Pre-CoM
Age: Appears to be somewhere in the 18-20 range, but is probably closer to 10.
Gender: Male
Sexuality: Having no heart, he's not even remotely interested.
Appearance: As one of the shorter Nobodies and a man for whom the word 'bookish' would be an accurate description, Zexion is not the most imposing of figures even on a good day. The fact that his hair - a shade of silvery-grey that almost looks blue in some lights - falls down over his right eye only serves to emphasis that point.
Personality: As his title within the Organization (the Cloaked Schemer) would indicate, Zexion is more of a strategist than a fighter, preferring to manipulate things from the shadows than to go for all out combat, even to the point that in a combat situation his first response is to quite simply go somewhere else. However, as a counterbalance, he seems to have an unexhaustable supply of patience, being quite content to wait and see how things unfold. However, this does not make him any less dangerous than any of the other members of the Organization - he can actually, do a significant amount of harm, should he wish to - merely that his talents lie in places that are not physical combat.
It should also be noted that he has a tendency to sound as if he stepped out the pages of a book when speaking, possibly due to his rather bookish nature.
Abilities/Weaponry: Along with being an excellent strategist, Zexion is also capable of creating an assortment of illusions. These range from being something as small as merely changing the way something looks to as large as changing the way the entire world looks like within a certain area or making something appear to simply not be there.
Keeping in line with his tendency to stay out of physical combat, his weapon is one that at first glance one would hardly be inclined to take seriously - being little more than a large book. Nonetheless, he can manage some surprisingly effective attacks with it - most noticeably trapping his opponent within the pages of his book, effectively sending them to a sort of 'pocket dimension' - complete with exploding books. However, he is not particularly inclined to fighting with his weapon in its true form when it comes to fighting - preferring instead to use his abilities at both mimicry and illusion to turn his opponent's own attacks and weapons against them.
In a more physical vein, he is also uncommonly good at identifying people by the smell of their darkness/light and can, to an extent, track people down by smell, provided they're not too far away.
Weaknesses: To put it simply, Zexion, for all his skill at making people see things that may not actually be there, is not a fighter by any stretch of the imagination - he's neither particularly fast nor particularly good when it comes to physical strength and his short stature tends to make him rather easy to overpower, and even his best attacks are not all that strong. The only possible exception is what happens inside the pocket dimension of his book, which he uses rather infrequently, and when he does breaking out of it requires little more than knocking Zexion through the book that served as an entrance in the first place. Similarly, for all that his illusions are quite good at making things appear to be something they're not they are, at heart, nothing more than illusions and require some amount of concentration on his part in order to create them. Therefore breaking them requires little more than finding a suitable method to break his concentration.
Also, the same quirk of nature that allows him to pick out the differences between one person's mix of light and darkness and another's mix of the same also enhances his more mundane sense of smell, which in turn means that smells that would be, to any normal person, merely strong are to him near overpowering.
History: The youngest of the six apprentices who served under Ansem the Wise, Zexion (called Ienzo at the time) was, even then, the kind of person who preferred to wait and watch as things unfolded. However, it can hardly be denied that he had his hand in the downfall of Radiant Garden, as he was the one to persuade Ansem to begin the research into the darkness of the heart - research that later lead not only to the creation of the Heartless but also the destruction of Radiant Garden at the hands of Heartless.
Although he is not entirely thrilled with the concept of Marluxia being placed in control of Castle Oblivion, he is quite content do as he as always done - wait and watch. Doubtless a method to bring about Marluxia's downfall will become apparent sooner or later.
