...or a bubbly mess. Judging by the surface bubbles still rising after ten solid minutes of tapping the unset Silicone, I am guessing s bubbly mess. I will know in 8 hours or so. Learning curves...gotta love 'em...
A certain amount of bubbles are normal and unavoidable, but that does look a bit on the porous side. Do you know the trick of pouring the silicone in a long, thin stream?
Also, any of various, ah, Personal Massage Devices can be used to help dislodge bubbles. Srsly.
Apparently my OCD tapping of the wet silicone worked--although there were a bunch of tiny surface bubbles I just pulled the negative mold off and it looks bubble free! So, fingers crossed! And yes, I poured from a height but my technique clearly still needs work. :) Thank you for the advice!
Well, the plan is to cast using high temp hot glue rather than resin, which I think I should be able to reheat and bend into shape using a heat gun. If that works then casting the shapes flat at first should not present an issue. We shall see! :)
