aaron, i will give you one of my favourite pentel mechanical pencils. they last for years, i have three floating around, and you can still get them at asuc. my dad's been using the same one for over a decade. what size lead do you like?

Its called built in obsolescence. But i prefer the "razors and blades" business model created for the Gillette razor way back when. You lose money on selling the razor, but consumers have to keep buying your blades at a high profit margin.

I wonder if we can use the razor/blades business model with Chocolate Covered Records? We make a custom music player - let's call it an iChoco. It costs a couple hundred bucks to make, but we give it away for free. Then, we release the new Dream Date album in a format that only plays on the iChoco. Now comes the beauty part of it - we charge $1000 for the album! If someone wants to hear Dream Date, we make $800! What do you think?

or just press the Dream Date record on real chocolate and it'd only laste a couple plays and then you'd have to buy a new one. At least after the records worn out you can eat it
