You're there because if you weren't you'd spend the rest of your life wondering "What if?" and that's no way to live.
You talk like you're getting too old for this, as though your days are numbered and you're afraid of wasting your time on this dream that might not come true. No matter what comes of this journey, I don't think it's possible for you to fail, and I believe this is the best time to be out there working towards your dream. This isn't a "well, at least you tried" thing, because there's no way you can lose. You're going to make it, even if "it" turns out to be something you never imagined.
You're one of the most determined people I've ever known, and that's something I admire about you.
You know, that's pretty much what I was going to say. I went to grad school not really because of an overriding desire to go to grad school, but because one day I'll want the opportunities having my masters will afford. Getting through it sure does suck, but I know i'll be glad I did it.
And were I not hanging here in Columbus, albeit for awful reasons, I'd be having a serious jones for the area too. I think it might never go away. It's part of who I am now, and maybe that doesn't make sense to anyone else, but oh well.
