Tokyo, Japan
He’s in the car, fast asleep and least expects anything to happen. He snorts lightly in his sleep. The driver has been ordered to take him safely to a five star hotel where he’ll be staying at. The driver is, also, tired. He has been driving around for fifteen hours continuously and living off coffee.
So, no one really blames him for crashing the car. No one blames him because everyone’s too busy fretting over the injuries the passenger has. After all, the passenger is U-Know Yunho of Dong Bang Shin Ki.

Seoul, Korea
It all happens so quickly; one minute he’s laughing at something his co actor is joking about, the next minute is all in frenzy. People are asking him to move and step aside and get out of the way. He’s confused but soon, everything goes black.
The lights weren’t tied tightly enough, or the wire got cut loose, or something. But the lights fall and hit Micky Yoochun right in the head and he lays limp on the floor and the staff members are trying to think properly as they try to get hold of a phone to call the hospital.

Bangkok, Thailand
All the staff members insist that he needs sleep and food but, he insists he needs more practice. He asks all his back up dancers to leave, he even gives them money for dinner and thanks them for staying back so late with him. He dances till he can’t feel his skin.
When he leaves, he locks up and takes the key; he’s always responsible like that. He decides to take the stairs, it’s healthy and elevators make him sick. It’s too dark to see clearly and he’s too tired to focus on anything. He misses a bunch of stairs.
The security guard finds him at the landing and he can only hope nothing’s happened to Xiah Junsu as he quickly dials for an ambulance.

Incheon, Korea
He can see the company car waiting for him, it’s right there across the road. Now, he’s always been a careful, responsible pedestrian. Each time he crosses the road, he looks both sides and only walks when he is absolutely sure there is no vehicle coming his way.
But this time, he’s in a hurry. He’s also very close to missing his flight to Japan; so he rushes and fails to see a car speeding in his direction.
Max Changmin momentarily flies and hits the hard road; as he feels himself losing consciousness, he sees the driver rushing towards him and everything’s dark.
4:08 AM
Busan, Korea
Too much booze, too much cigarette smoke, too many people, too many jokes; he’s not sure if he can handle it. It was his friend’s (acquaintance, really) party and he’s too lonely to say no to parties. He’s out in the balcony, dragging on a smoke. There are people around him, of course, smoking and making fun. Some pretty slut asks him to sing, he says no, she persists and persists and persists and doesn’t stop. He keeps declining and declining and declining and doesn’t stop. She’s a little too drunk and her temper rises. She gives him a shove.
The balcony’s railing is too low and she is stronger than she looks.
Hero Jaejoong falls off from a third floor balcony.

It’s nearly mother’s day and Jung Yunho is the kind of person to always buy gifts for his mum, he has always been a loving son like that. He walks under the afternoon sun carrying a bag of gifts when he sees a small coffee shop at the end of the street; he decides a cold drink might do him good.
He enters the shop.
Park Yoochun wants his date to have a good time; he has, so far, taken her out to a movie and lunch and he decides that for a date to go well, one must end it with eating dessert. He spots a coffee shop on the other road and suggests it to his date, she agrees to it whole heartedly. As they are about to enter, his date gets a call and she excuses herself and tells him to carry on and that she would join him in five minutes. He smiles and agrees like the gentleman he is.
He walks to the entrance of the shop.
Shim Changmin likes all kinds of coffee shops; but his personal favourite is the one that is about two streets down from his apartment. He likes to sit there and read, write, contemplate.
As usual, the coffee shop is empty when he walks in and he orders his usual, smiling politely at the pretty girl behind the counter. He takes his usual place and pulls out his book from his bag, waiting for his coffee.
He can hear the familiar swoosh of the door as someone pulls it open to enter the shop, but he doesn’t bother looking up. But he does look up when he doesn’t hear the familiar thud of the door closing.
Two men have entered the shop, one after the other.
Kim Junsu has nothing to do, so he decides to disturb his brother. He walks to the back door of his brother’s work place. He smiles at the staff there and asks them politely where his brother is at. One of them tells him that his brother just left to finish an errand and that he should sit at table and wait for him, he won’t be that long.
Junsu shrugs; he has nothing to do anyway. He walks out to the counters of his brother’s coffee shop. He’s never been here before, maybe once or twice during closing time, so it’s strange to see people sitting at various tables, busy with whatever it is they are doing.
Junsu takes a seat next to the window, away from the three others; one who has his nose buried in a book, one who is busy texting someone on his phone and the last one, sitting right next to him, is looking out expectantly, like he’s waiting for someone.
Junsu pulls out his own phone and starts playing games on it.
Kim Jaejoong hates coffee and coffee shops; there is something very melancholic about them, something so sad and lonely. So he protests loudly his sister wants to sit down at a coffee shop and talk. Shopping for five straight hours he can take, sitting in a coffee shop is something he cannot do. But his sister pouts at him, makes those big puppy eyes he’s a sucker for and he agrees. But, he still thinks, he’d rather have tea.
She takes (drags) him to the nearest coffee shop at the corner of the street, completely ignoring his comments on how shady and dark the place looks.
The five of them are together, but they have no idea.
Jaejoong sits at table and watches his sister placing the order at the counter; he sits at the table which is between the boy who’s reading a book and the man who looks like he’s waiting for someone. There is another man sitting to the right of the boy, he’s busy with his phone and there is another man who is sitting further down his left. Something about the way they are seated feels right, Jaejoong can’t point out what.
His sister turns on her heels and smiles at Jaejoong from the counter, Jaejoong returns the smile. He watches her as she looks around at the other customers. He watches her face suddenly going pale and her brows knit in worry. She briskly walks up to Jaejoong and whispers that they need to get out of here now. There is an edge to her voice, like she’s worried or scared.
(or maybe she knows something he doesn’t; she hasn’t forgotten)
Jaejoong is about to get up and leave with his sister, when the waitress comes with a tray of cold coffee; he’s about to tell her that they are going to leave and she might as well cancel the order but, the man sitting on the right most corner calls out to her and tells her it’s his order. She apologizes profusely and makes her way to the man.
Yunho watches as the waitress makes her way to his table and he quickly glances over to the table she had gone to. There is something so familiar about the guy sitting there, something so oddly comfortable about him, like maybe they were friends in another life or another universe; or even lovers who shared secrets and slow, languid kisses when no one was looking; it’s odd. Yunho doesn’t know why he feels this way. He flashes a small smile to him and he gets a smile in return, an unsure, not quite there but there, smile. Yunho wonders if that guy’s feeling the same thing he’s feeling.
Changmin feels uncomfortable, all of a sudden. He puts his book down and looks up; the men on either of his side were smiling at each other and Changmin lightly frowns. This feels oddly right. He glances at both of them and he feels like he’s blocking them, from talking, conversing, being friends, or something. But it also feels right.
Junsu’s brother walks in through the front doors and pauses when he sees the people in the shop (he hasn’t forgotten either). He instantly spots Junsu sitting at a table and calls out to him; everyone’s attention is snapped and turned to the said person.
Junsu Yoochun thinks, the name rolls in his mind, on his tongue, it creeps under his skin. Junsu ; it’s a damned familiar name. Not because he knows anyone else by the name of Junsu, no. He turns to this Junsu and looks him in the face, Yoochun feels like hugging this man and he also thinks he might just know the feeling.
Junsu stands up and waves to his brother when he realizes everyone’s staring at him; they are four pairs of eyes (five actually, counting the girl who is standing next to the pretty boy) looking at him. He thinks he should feel odd and out of place that random strangers he’s never met before are staring at him with wide eyes but, the thing is, he doesn’t. He doesn’t feel odd or out of place, he doesn’t feel like these people are random strangers - it almost feels like his family is looking at him because he’s done something stupid (which has happened on various occasions). He walks to his brother and on cue, everyone realizes they are staring and look away.
The door opens and Yoochun’s date walks in, face flushed and she walks up to Yoochun filled with apologizes, the call had taken longer than she had expected it to. Yoochun is all smiles to her and being the gentleman he is, he stands up to pull the chair for her and they decide to order a brownie with two cups of coffee.
Changmin realizes he has assignments to complete and he is done with his book, he finishes his drink and stuffs the book back into his bag; it’s time for him to leave.
Yunho gets a call from his mother asking him to come back home early, his sister is about to leave for her vacation so they are going to spend some family quality time together. He picks up all his gift bags, slips his phone into his pocket and picks up his drink and sets to leave.
Jaejoong’s sister is still adamant that they leave so she asks Jaejoong to wait outside, she wants to use the restroom before they leave (she actually wants to say to hello to Junsu’s brother because neither have forgotten nor will they ever). Jaejoong shrugs and leaves the place.
Junsu’s brother tells him the same thing, tells him to go outside and wait by his car, he has some petty things to take care of and after that the both of them could go home together.
Unknowingly (or knowingly), the five of them bump into each other by the counter; Yoochun’s placing his order, the other four are trying to get past the counter and to the door. They stare at each other blank faced, they are in a huddled circle and they are all looking at each other and it does not feel strange at all. It’s, as if, they are connected by a string, somehow, somewhere - they are connected but none of them know how, why, what. But they all just stand there awkwardly, looking at each other. Yunho shuffles his feet audibly, Changmin clears his throat, Jaejoong knits his eyebrows in thought, Yoochun sighs softly and Junsu laughs quietly.

Another wave of familiarity hits everyone and they don’t know what to say, what to do. They all share the same feeling, the same thought; it’s as though they are home, they are in their happy place, they know each other but they don’t, all of them could have been friends - best friends, all of them could have lived together, shared clothes, food, gossip, watched movies together, go out on trips together, make fun of each other, support each other, stand up for each other. Strangely, it doesn’t feel wrong.
Yunho bows politely and excuses himself, his family is waiting.
Changmin does the same, he needs to study.
Jaejoong smiles at the other two and leaves, he’s just tired and hungry and his sister is acting weird.
Yoochun gives his widest smile to Junsu and turns to get his order, Junsu walks out.
They all leave, all walk on separate paths to live their separate lives but they cannot shrug off the feeling of familiarity and security they felt for that moment.
And each thinks, maybe all of us could be something.
Maybe, all of us will bump into each other again, sometime soon.
Maybe.

“Changmin stop eating all of the damn food. I cooked for all of us, not just you!”
“But Hyung, I appreciate it more than any of them.”
“Ha! I just kicked your fat butt at that game, Junsu.”
“That’s because I let you win, Yunho.”
“I suggest we watch a horror movie tonight.”
“No, Yoochun-ah.”
“Aw, c’mon Yunho Hyung, it’ll be fun. We can all pile up on each other and sleep after.”
“Pervert.”
“Psh, you know you love me for it, Changmin.”
“Changmin, stop eating all the damn food!”
