So glad you're back, hon!! I noticed that yesterday too with your account but didn't have another way of contacting you. I wonder if the other person you mentioned is the same one I know about having it happen, FeliciaCraft, or somebody else? And I really, REALLY hope this isn't a sign of things to come!!
I've just looked at FeliciaCraft's journal, and it was indeed them. Thank you for reminding me of that - I honestly couldn't remember where I read the post ^_^ And it seems it was exactly the same for them - their journal was flagged as potentially being a source of spam.
As I've said, I was so grateful for their post - it kept me relatively calm ^^ I'm really glad it was sorted out so quickly, and yes, I absolutely hope this isn't going to become a regular occurrence for us all ^^"
I know it's just getting locked out of a website - it's hardly the worst thing that could happen - but LJ is such an important part of my life now. I'm glad they let me back in ^__^
And yes, it'd be very stressful to be suspended from your platform and social network, no knowledge of why, and no control over whether/how/when you'd be reinstated. I'm glad you at least already had some info about it happening to someone else, who then got their journal back after, but still! It is an upsetting thing.
(And especially so when you're modding a comm!)
But it's a good thing they corrected their error promptly, because round two might have involved you what-the-hell-ing them, and who knows what might have followed that??
Looking back now, I feel a bit daft that I got so wound up when I was suspended less than 24 hours. But as you say, it was the open-endedness of it that was stressful. I was so grateful I had read that post and had some idea of what to expect - knowing they'd got their journal back was the most important thing.
(And especially so when you're modding a comm!) There was a flurry of emails between me and Small Hobbit as we tried to sort out the upcoming posts for sherlock60 ^__

As a mod, I always feel like I'm holding something in trust for the community -- a space, a history, a potential future -- and of course there are big emotions when that's threatened.
During all this, I was thinking that at Holmestice we've a dedicated mod account, so at least the comm wouldn't be affected by a mod getting personally suspended, and then I realized that if the mod account got suspended, it'd literally raze everything. The sign-ups would survive, and that's it. We talked briefly, right after the LJ servers moved to Russia, of backing up the comm elsewhere, but it hasn't gotten farther than a vague 'we oughta'. /moves that convo farther up the to-do list, BAH
If you and thesmallhobbit come up with a back-up idea for sherlock60 you like, we'd love to hear it. I do know that importing a comm, posts and comments and all, over to Dreamwidth is relatively straightforward (or it used to be, the last time I had occasion to be involved in that), but I don't know what other options exist.
...then I realized that if the mod account got suspended, it'd literally raze everything. I realised that today as well ^^" Though I suppose at least the Holmestice mod account is less likely to be making comments and sending notes - let alone ones with links in them - so it's less likely to be automatically flagged as a potential source of spam.
And Small Hobbit and I were indeed thinking about using Dreamwidth to make a mirror comm.

Also glad it got sorted so quickly, a very worrying time for you.
