Know what works? If you really like a guy, just be around him more. Make casual conversation just to get the two of you aquainted. Then whenever you see him places say hi to him first. Guys are kind of like girls in that sense: we both looove getting that special attention. As for being ballsy enough to just come out and say "Hey man I like you.", if you really want to do it yourself, just find a time when there aren't a ton of people to get in the way and subtly hint that you've been wanting to hang out for a while and maybe you two should grab some food sometime.
