danke Sarah - wahrscheinlich hatte ich einfach Glück, aber diesmal war's ein schönes Glück! die Zeit, die wir am Sonntagnachmittag zusammen verbracht haben, hat meinen Mut gestärkt.

my friend michael (whose lj name is kilgoresmith) is also applying for a fulbright, but i dont think he's interviewing with anyone. he just turned in his application. when do you find out?

it all sounds so very exciting

i'll know by March whether I'm "in the running" - that is, whether i've made the Hit List on the national level - and receive a final answer by May.
i hope to know sooner. have a good, dragonflies-in-the-belly feeling, but i'm still nervous. the project idea is kind of anti-Fulbright, in essence, but that seems to be the very thing perking up the panel members' eyebrows. who knows? i felt like yodeling after the interview yesterday, but i had half a bottle of drugstore wine helping me out.
is your friend applying for a research grant, or a teaching assistantship? the two processes are slightly different?
hope you're having a delicious day, feeling loved. are you already (physically) preparing for your move?

check out his livejournal and comments. he's been writing about it on there. he wants to go to nepal and study these specific things.

i keep flipflopping on the move, but mostly yes, i'm ready to move on. i have to take these dumb classes like american government and economics first, though, as they deem my undergraduate studies inadequate. that makes me less excited, but such is the process of life.

i love you, bradford, and i miss you oh so much.
