talib kweli song

I had to slow down the song to half-speed, but eventually I was able to transcribe these heartfelt lyrics:

life is a beautiful struggle.
people search through the rubble
for a suitable hustle.
some people using the noodle,
some people using the muscle,
some people put it all together
make it feel like a puzzle.

-talib kweli

from what track are those talib lyrics? natalie portman made me feel like a kid in an eye candystore. i was about to see what ebert thought of closer when i came across his critique of Shamalakabingbangboomalam's The Village, which was on his 10 Worst Films of 2004 list:

"Eventually the secret of Those [We Do Not Speak Of], etc., is revealed. To call it an anticlimax would be an insult not only to climaxes but to prefixes. It's a crummy secret, about one step up the ladder of narrative originality from It Was All a Dream. It's so witless, in fact, that when we do discover the secret, we want to rewind the film so we don't know the secret anymore.

And then keep on rewinding, and rewinding, until we're back at the beginning, and can get up from our seats and walk backward out of the theater and go down the up escalator and watch the money spring from the cash register into our pockets."

ouch.

Yeah Marty that's some touchy stuff... It's amazing what we find on tracks when we slow them down a bit and really listen. In a way I suppose that could be a metaphor for our own lives as well. It is always amazing to me what we find in our own lives when we slow them down a bit and listen more. I am constantly put in awe at what I discover. I'm flyin out to AZ tomorrow but I'll be back on the 28th... if you're around lets get together... Take it easy~Pete~... and check out my site at www.myspace.com/con if you get the chance, later brotha and stay in touch.
