^^ Hehe, I think I'm going through the obsessed stage right now. Alright you read the novel as well! So good! Have you ever read Notre Dame de Paris (aka The Hunchback of Notre Dame)?

OH MY GOD!! I was also a huge fan of the Disney 1996 Hunchback of Notre Dame, and I read the Victor Hugo book although admittingly that was serious, dense reading. It actually seemed to focus a great deal on Frollo the priest. It could have been called the Archdeacon of Notre Dame instead...

The Archdeacon of Notre Dame... that sounds about right! I really don't like the translated title for the novel - Quasimodo was one of the more prominent characters, but then again even if they made it The Archdeacon of Notre Dame it should have simply been named 'Notre Dame of Paris' since Notre Dame was where the majority of the plots, especially the climatic battle, etc. took place. Also it symbolised different meanings for most of the characters and readers personally. Or something to that extent. Sorry I couldn't explain it better, I'm getting all jumbled up, lol.

Another interest we have in common aside from books...my parents took me to a lot of musicals, operas and plays when I was younger, including Cats, Les Miserables, A Chorus Line, the Fantasticks. I also saw Angels in America, Rent, and Phantom of the Opera * my all time favorite musical because of the time period and duh...the music!*

RENT! That was the other one I just have to see! (I've heard lots of excellent criticism ^^)
^____^ ahhhhh the Phantom of the Operaaaaa *drools excessively* I was wondering have you ever watched the film or read the original novel by Gaston Leroux?

I didn't see the movie although I've heard good things about it...I think that was Emmy Rossum who played Christine in there? Never read the book either, although I thought the story was vaguely based on a little bit of truth...that some kind of guy was living there in basement or something the Paris Opera House.

I'm telling you though, I always rooted for the Phantom. I couldn't imagine Christine going off with that punk Raoul...what appeal was there in him? So what if the Phantom's face was a little messed up. I'd take him any day over Raoul. Any guy who can sing songs as beautiful as he did has my heart any day.

I did see Michael Crawford also in this Las Vegas show called FX several years ago. It was a really big elaborate production where he portrays various magicians and men in there, such as Merlin and Houdini.

Emmy Rossum was brilliant as Christine. And you're right that the original Phantom story was based on some parts of a man in a Paris Opera House. Also, I really like the novel as it explained more of the Phantom's background.

Alright for Team Phantom! Raoul was okay, but obviously not as captivating as the Phantom. And in the film version of PotO he seemed more *shakes fist*

FX...I haven't heard of it. Mmm big elaborate production is ringing in my ears ^^ I wish there were more Australian magicians (I don't even know one). I only watch some things on the Internet of David Copperfield and that magician who took a heart out of a living human o_o
