finally got the chance to read this :)
you know, i loved Kala and am still bummed that i haven't seen Pintu Terlarang yet, but Modus Anomali was probably one of my most favorite Indonesian movies. it's brilliant and i'm such a sucker for movies with twisted plot. tbh i actually had no problem with it being in english, my problem was the lead actor's english. it was reeeally awkward, and if he meant to sound like a psychotic murderer, he failed.
it makes me sad that Modus Anomali is very underappreciated here. it's not a typical movie Indonesian audiences will easily digest. even i had to explain the whole plot to my friend when it finished. terlalu berat buat orang indonesia yang sukanya cinta-cintaan dan horor mesum. i still think the whole story behind this meet-up was awesome, though. you should make an epilogue post! ;p and Joko Anwar does appear conceited lol i used to follow him on twitter. but as long as he keeps making good movies, who am i to mind ( ... )
