this is just surprisingly lovely. you've these bright, soft versions of the characters we know; they interact with each other in such similar and dissimilar ways. the formatting makes it hard to read, but other than that, simply excellent.

Nice! Real, real nice! The plot, the descriptions, the character-development, you had me hooked, completely. I was really not planning to read both parts in one go, but I just couldn't stop. You did have me a bit lost (I know nothing about poker or cards in general) at times but it didn't matter in the end, because you more than compensated for it, the atmosphere was gorgeous.
