I'm looking for software...

I need some type of scanning software.. free or really cheap... all i want is to be able to scan pics and save them... nothing special... anyone know of any???

There should be any number of image editors that will work with the TWAIN driver that came with your scanner... In fact I'd expect one to be included with your scanner. But The GIMP and Picasa are two free alternatives that come to mind...

The scanner is old... I got it from a friend... I had to go get the driver from the website of the manufacturer...
I thought about picasa... but, does it work with scanning?... i mean... can you litterally scan with it?

haha... I guess I'm just the biggest geek/sysadmin around here...

I've never used Picasa, but http://picasa.google.com/support/bin/answer.py?answer=11113&topic=1034 leads me to believe that it would do the job.
