Oh dear, schizophrenia? What's triggered it, if you don't mind telling me? I-it's just that when I was little, I was really close to my brother's friend. She was more than ten years older than I, and she was schizophrenic. I never really noticed, though.
DOGS > PEOPLE, MUCH. (Mine is a 11-years-old scottish terrier. ♥)
I don't mind at all, but I cannot explain it very well... xD; I'm not sure if the disorder can be "triggered"; I like the theory that says schizophrenic inclinations are determined very early on, between the mother and the baby. If something goes awry at that stage (if the mother is too caring, deep inside the child might never realize they are two separate beings) and isn't amended later (for example through healthy relationships with other kids at school), the person will be susceptible to mental disorders in early adulthood, which is the first major breaking point in life. They sort of go back to that early stage - well, in a way. Imagine you have brains and emotions of a 20 year old, but your control over them is that of a small child. Fears start leaking out and taking on bizarre forms. In a situation in which you would normally think "I don't want to go there" you will see or hear something scary that will stop you from proceeding. You start perceiving inner

EXTREME envy because you can speak 3 languages and one of them is German >o< ! Japanese history!! God knows how much time I've spent on those books! Are you most interested in the modern or medieval part of it? :3 *loves both* I would also ask about the indierock part of this introduction, but I think I've been intrusive enough^^'
Medieval.♥ I'm one of those kids who wanted to become a samurai after reading Usagi Yojimbo when they were little. xD; Have you read anything good in English? I'm itching for something new but I don't know where to start looking. Amazon is vast. ._. I will appreciate any recs!
You like alternative, too? I love Boy Kill Boy, The Shins, The Killers, Death Cab For Cutie, Kaiser Chiefs, Interpol, Die Ärzte, Kettcar~
You mean manga? Then definitely you should check (if you haven't already ;D) Lone Wolf and Cub! It's my favourite samurai manga! I also watched all the movies and I'm dying to see the tv series (waiting to have enough money to buy the dvd set). It's set around the end of 17th century, it's very detailed about the customs of the time and the characters are people that really existed

I meant real books~ Preferably historical fiction, something like Yasushi Inoue's novels, or good university textbooks. I own two (by Andressen and by Tubielewicz), but the chapters on sengoku are absolutely terrible. D: (Aaand I love Lone Wolf and Cub, too. ♥ I will definitely check out Shigurui!)
I didn't know most of the bands you mentioned. XD; *fail*
Wow, schizophrenia? That has to be really tough, I'm sorry. D: It sounds like you have a remarkably good attitude about it, though, which always helps!
We seem to share the same tastes. Awesome girls and psychopaths! ♥ And your favorite pairings are very diverse, which makes me happy. I know way too many people who ship solely slash/het/whathaveyou. Shipping whores of the world, unite!
And yay for language-love! Just a note, I'm an East Asian Studies major in school, and I've been studying Japanese for about two years now. So if you ever want to practice your Japanese or anything, I'd be happy to!
Thanks! I try to be positive whenever possible, especially online since it's much easier. No pressure and stuff.
Same here! I swear I know more heterophobes than homophobes. :D; Variety is good. When a shipping war breaks out in your fandom, you can sit back with a bag of popcorn and enjoy the wank~
Thank you, I'll remember about it. ♥ My Japanese is really horrible, though. Need more manga a textbook. ._. Out of curiosity: are you taking any other Asian languages beside Japanese?
Oh wow, I really hope you successfully pursue your dream as a psychology major~ I'm taking a regular psychology course in school right now and it's really very interesting even though I want to major in Japanese when I get to college, haha. It always helps to know how to analyze a person, right?
You make me feel so guilty for not watching more of Neuro, KHR, Baccano!, and Oofuri. D: I would definitely go watch them all now, but I have no sound. >_> BADGER ME NEXT WEEK AND I'LL TOTALLY DO IT. XD;;
I was scanning through the other comments and came across you mention Die Ärzte. I'm excited I've actually heard their music before! My dad bought one of their CDs when he and my mom went to Germany a long, looong time ago. The only song he ever plays, though, is "Hurra" but it's so catchy, I love it~ ♪
Thank you! Japanese Studies must be really interesting, too~ I would love to take an additional course some day. Also, I'm totally envious you can take psychology in school. There weren't any cool subjects in mine. ;D
I SHALL. Especially Baccano and Oofuri. Neuro and KHR are better as manga, IMO. x3
Oh wow, this makes me so happy, I didn't think anyone knew German punk outside Germany! ♥ I love Die Ärzte, I'm glad to hear you like the song~
Aw, I go to a magnet school, so it's all special and full of random cool subjects like that. I really just want out. I'm so glad I'm graduating this year. \o/
Well, pester away. 8D I need to get back into the groove of watching anime and reading manga. I'm so behind the fandoms. D8
Haha, well before I took Japanese I actually took about three years of German. Not that I retained any of it but the very basics and pronunciation and things... But my parents love the language and the country and my dad introduced me to some of the music. I went looking for other German punk/rock on my own and got really excited when they put "Heir Kommt Alex" on Guitar Hero 3. *3* I have to admit, though, one of my favorite German songs that I've heard is "Millionär" by Die Prinzen. Hah, that music video is the funniest thing ever. XD It's so bad it's good. ♥
Aaaww... it's so nice to know other people like Neville/Luna! <3
I'm really sorry about your schizophrenia. I've got manic depression myself, so it's totally not the same, but I can kind of sympathize with having to go to the hospital and all....
Psychology! Wow! I'm always so impressed by people who can do that. I love the concepts behind psychology, but I'm definitely not very good at all the human science part. I studied art, English and library science-- all the softcore stuff, hm? But yeah. Kids. Kids are great. I'm planning on being a teen librarian, so yay! Some crossover? :D
Ha, they have all the potential in the world as the last leaders of DA~ I think this pairing accompanies Neville's growth as a man really well.
My friend is bipolar, I know how difficult it can be. D: *hug*
I got interested in psychology when I started looking for help. I wasn't ready to talk to anyone yet so I read everything I could find. It's funny how the books didn't actually help me deal with any of my problems, but gave me a goal instead. :D;
