Here I am! Let me sum up the past six months: It was nuts, I graduated, now I'm looking for a job. No bites yet. And if I don't have a job by the beginning of September, I'm going to enlist in the Army
( Read more... )
Congrats on graduating! That's some awesome news. :)
Career wise... have you looked at jobs in Austin? *wink wink* Just kidding. Hang in there. Something will come up sooner or later. Not many people are having job luck right now.
Relationship wise... Things fall into place the way they're supposed to. Try not to dwell in it and just let things happen, over thinker. :P
Thanks! It feels a little surreal, actually. I have this blue case from UNCG with my degree in it, and I hardly ever look at it. Years of education, summed up in a cheaply printed sheet...
I might get stationed at Fort Hood.. Though, then again, you might be elsewhere by then, right? I think it's not about luck at this point, more like being outgunned by the people that are closer to the jobs I'm applying for. They're all in National Parks across the country, because NC is on a hiring freeze for "non-essential" personnel (scientists).
Hey, someone has to think long term. I know it has to be held in check.. Gotta make strategy drive tactics, not the other way around. But if a woman can't handle that, then she shouldn't be with me!
It so be our luck that you come out to Fort Hood [which is threeish or so hours away] and I leave. :P I'm not sure when I'm leaving, actually. The plan is by Christmas but may be by Thanksgiving.
If you do go Army then I'm so going to harass you via snail mail and care packages and stuff. [If you let me!] If you don't go Army... I still may want to do it.
And some advice from a girl: First dates aren't good for the "So I been thinking marriage, how do you feel about xyz?". ;)
Be careful bout the "hop on a plane" statement. I've been known to do it!
Congrats on graduation, even if it probably happened months ago.
Hah, I've been a planner since birth. At the age of 13, I knew exactly where I wanted to be at age 25--in a prestigeous university, studying to be a rich doctor. I found that as I grew more mature, and more world-wise, my plans became less relevant. I looked inside myself, and didn't see a rich doctor. I looked at the world, and the world didn't need yet another doctor.
Plans are overrated, because they invariably depend on outdated information as time progresses. There's nothing wrong with having a plan--they make good guidlines. And there's nothing wrong with being without one, if you can make the best of now.
