La luce che tu hai nel cuore restera a ricordarci che eterna stella sei...I am inadequate. "Insofar as I cannot make a good argument for what's right, I am impeding your progress toward the light."

Assuming you're talking about the gospel, you're ability to make a good argument has no place in that conversation. In the search for truth, the philosophy and arguments of man fall short. Try D&C 93 for a better approach. :p

I'm not entirely of that opinion. While the search for God shouldn't be solely based on logic, I have never found God to deceive me logically. And Truth must appeal to both the mind and the heart. That's why science and religion ought never to contradict--and they don't when one goes about thinking the right way.

Now, when talking to someone who might "convert" you to another faith, people are very cautious and often the logical appeal is the only thing that gets them interested enough to make an attempt to understand and receive the spiritual blessings. Speaking from the other side of that type of conversation, every logical flaw in your argument prevents the other person from being further interested. While you may be trying to help that person out, you've actually just deprived them of an opportunity to come to a clearer understanding, and you've made your side look stupid as well. That goes for any argument.

My own personal conversion actually came upon learning of the Logic of the Gospel. Logic didn't convert me, but it paved the way enabling me to exercise faith, and after my faith I received a clear confirmation of the Truth of the Gospel (à la Ether 12:6).

We should be careful never to argue (I know, from extensive experience, that argument is rarely a help in religious discussion), but we should also strive to use correct logic and reasoning in our discourse.

Yes, by "argument" I meant "exchange of ideas." But still, my point there is valid.
