This is incredibly interesting. I'm always fascinated by what our psyches drum up, and I've never heard of this manifestation of OCD before. It's funny, because in my head-canon, my opinion of Berwald is that he has an irrational fear of accidentally hurting the people he loves. He seems to give off that kind of vibe, you know? He knows he's capable of great cruelty - as his Viking days will attest - and I think a fear of relapse sometimes lurks in the back of his mind. Thank you for writing this, it provided a lot of food for thought - and also developed my thinking of Sweden. I enjoyed the piece immensely <3
