It's hard to get back into writing after taking such a long break

So much has happened since I last posted, I don't know where to start. The holiday season for me was a very strange combination of being good and really hard. I already wrote about the roller-coaster circumstances of wrecking my car and obtaining a new one ( Read more... )

Hey man, I know what you are going through. I went through a very similar ride a few years ago when my best friend's mom died in a car accident. There were other things going on at the same time as well that made the whole time pretty much the worst time of my life. However, God was faithful and turning to Him is the only thing that mades sense in these situations. Remember that there are no accidents, and everything happens for a reason. Hang on man! God is good... all the time.

Random comment not related to your post (but related to what you were listening to):I don't know anyone else who even knows who The Dingees are! :)

Yeah, I don't think I know anyone else, either. They're not the stock, pop music that everyone buys. I like a little punk every once and a while though. :)

I recently met a girl that moved here and works as an intern with Crusade. She has Stavesacre and Project 86 stickers on the back of her car. I don't know if I've ever met another girl who even knew who those bands are, much less listened to them. She said she has mellowed out some and doesn't listen to them as much anymore, though.

I never really got into Stavesacre or Project 86. I think I was moving out of my heavier music phase by the time I heard of them. MXPX was the very first "Christian" music I ever listened to and that wasn't until my senior year in h.s. (96). I think we had this conversation but I used to listen to: FIF, 90Lb. Wuss, The Dingees, Slick Shoes, Lots of BEC label bands and more in college but then I kinda got more into the indie scene and more mellow, folkier stuff. I guess you could say I've "mellowed out" a bit too.
It's still fun to bust out some of those old tapes (yes, you heard me right-tapes) and reminisce.
