Half full or half empty

The answer to the question of if a glass is half full or half empty depends not on the outlook of the person viewing the glass, but rather the initial state of the glass.  If the glass started as full and half was removed then it is half empty- being that it was not "emptied" completely.  If, on the other hand, the glass began empty and were only ( Read more... )

This is true I think, and clever.

Though I'm not sure it works for when you have a glass a certain way from the beginning.

Okay, granted if a glass were willed into existance at exactly the half way mark it would be open into interpretation as to whether it is half full or half empty, however I've never witnessed God ploping down random glasses with liquid in them just to create a mental conundrum for me. :)
