A question I've been pondering

Would the 10 year old version of you be happy with the person you've become?
you can answer as well, its just a question thats been on my mind a lot the past couple years

Lets preface this with where I saw myself when I was 10... I imagined I would have gone to Harvard and studied Marine Biology - YES I KNOW that Harvard is not big on Marine Biology ( Read more... )

That's a really good thought-provoking topic!
And it's interesting to read a bit about your life growing up. :)

Thanks hon, So are you looking at options other than finishing your grad degree? Like if the perfect job came up would you take it? For instance, while I'm sure you'd probably not be interested, there are tech writer jobs at Boeing with fairly good pay, even in Phili so you'd still be close to the friends you are able to hold on to, or out in SEA or Cali if you are into the whole - making new friends starting a new life thing.... Anyway they pay for any college classes you take...so you could still finish your masters, it would just be while you're working?

AAAHHHHH been spending too much time with Joe, he always tries to solve others problems rather than just listen...again thanks for your input, it really is interesting how different everyone's lives are...even at age 10.

i have just had extremely bad working experiences. e.g., the summer after my first year of college, i worked at this dry cleaners in parsippany for 60-70 hours a week, 12 hours a day plus Saturdays too. It was usually over 100 degrees in there - a laundry factory - since it wasn't air conditioned. I was not allowed to sit down, eat lunch, or use the bathroom. That summer I guess everyone else did enriching, gentle things, whatever it is rich people do. I scrubbed shit off of people's pants, and made $8 an hour for it. "quitting" or "bitching about the working conditions" were not options. i was the only person in my family with any income! the next summer I worked at Coldstone, which by comparison was sort of incredibly easy and wonderful (and cold), but it was still a terrible job. then the next summer i did cold-calling fundraising, then i worked at Copytalk. which was kafkaesque. i have never, ever, ever had a job i enjoy. i am probably not qualified for those jobs. those are only for rich people. i am poor. as far as i can tell, ( ... )

Ten years ago? 14/15 year old me would not be ashamed of current me, though would probably assume / prefer that I engage in more raunchy trysts than I do currently. And would also be amused to hear that I had a short but fun relationship some years back with my summer camp puppy-crush, Katie.

At 10 I was in 5th/6th grade, my best friends moved away, I needed and obtained glasses, sometime around then I broke my collar bone and had to sit out a summer season from hockey, prompting me to play video games, a hobby that has stuck ( ... )

10 year old me wasn't interested in girls because they were stupid. As were most boys, but they at least had some similar interests. That's part of why I would be surprised that I'm married. If I cared about that sort of stuff I would of liked you though.
