Finally

Nov 02, 2007 07:29

I just got my level upgrade at work this week and my new income statement yesterday. I am FINALLY making as much as I was offered to work at Xerox. At least I get to play with airplanes, makes it worth it.

I guess you don't have the option of working 40hr/wk jobs. That would make it tough. (derived from 40hr/wk==2000hr/yr which would cause your wage to be $1/hr after taxes, which at that wage level would all be refunded) Most medium paying jobs require that.

I am well aware of the basic mathematics. Some people are unable to find employment and, if they do not qualify for unemployment (as is my situation), are forced to live off credit cards until the situation improves.

I only bothered to write out the math to explain my line of thinking, not because I don't think you can do the math.

I've never been without a job when I want one so the situation you describe is baffling. I made more than 6k during the summer as a junior in high school. I'm in a different world apparently.
