improved by swapping one character between the even and odd groups, which ones would you
switch?
Odd: Miles, Jenka, Richard, Ninth, Agatha. That team has way too many smart people!
Leader - Miles. After a lot of argument with Ninth and some argument with Agatha, but I think Miles can out-argue anyone. In that case we probably get Ninth as Lancer, because him and Miles would work REALLY well together. Leaving Agatha as Smart Guy. And Jenka and Richard arguing over Big Guy... Yeah, Jenka wins. Richard ends up as the Chick. And probably has lots of fun with it once he thinks it over.
Even: Hat, Mark, Maxim, Cordelia, Cale'anon - honestly, again, what's with all the smart people?? Damn my fiction preferences.
Leader - Cordelia or Cale'anon? Mm, Cordelia. She's rational. And both Mark and Hat would vote for her. In that case Mark gets Lancer, so Hat doesn't have to argue with him over Smart Guy. The Jager gets Big Guy, again. Cale'anon, unsurprisingly, is the Chick. Maxim thinks this is hilarious.
Swap? I don't know, honestly. Get rid of Agatha in Odd, maybe? I'd swap her with Maxim, because having him in the Miles/Richard/Ninth team would be damn hilarious. Which I suppose would make Ninth Smart Guy and Jenka Lancer, because that works a lot better than the other way around. And so we get the Amazing Mayhem Team!
But then Even gets really low on Big Guys. I guess Mark ends up Big Guy, or rather Small But Deadly Guy, with the assasin training and all, and we get Agatha as Lancer, which should be fine too. This ends up being the Smart Sneaky Team.
2. Gender-swap 2, 8 & 10. Which character would have the most change in their story arc?
Which the least? Would any of these characters have to have a complete personality change
to be believable as the opposite sex?
Hat, Cordelia, Cale'anon.
Hat - I would have thought he'd need a big personality change, until he met his girlfriend... Yeah, he'd be just like her. And they'd probably still sleep together! ...Story arc? What story arc?
Cordelia - Hmm. With her being married to Aral on a backward military planet and having children, it would end up as a major issue. Personality change - eh, not that big.
Cale'anon - Not much of a story arc change or personality change, I think. He's girly enough as it is!
3. Compare the matchups of 1 & 8 and 5 & 9. (Ignore canon sexual preferences for the
moment.) Which couple would be more compatible? Which couple would be more plausible to
people from either principal's home culture?
1 and 8 - Cordelia and her son Miles. Umm...no? And ignoring the family relationship - he'd absolutely love her, and drive her crazy. Eventually she'd get him a mercenary fleet so he could work out most of his manic energy ELSEWHERE! Without the family relationship, fairly plausible.
5 and 9 - Richard the Necromancer and Agatha?? I REALLY don't think so. She'd probably love to experiment on him though, if she was in her Mad Heterodyne mood. Unless the Castle got to him first. Oh, that would be fun! Implausible in Girl Genius, fairly plausible in Looking for Group (they're a bizarre set as is)
4. Your team is 3, 4 & 9. The mission consists of a social challenge, a mental challenge
and a physical challenge. Which team member do you assign to each challenge?
Jenka, Mark, Agatha. Not too bad. Physical-Jenka, social-Mark (I think he's better than Agatha at those things. He does tend towards disturbing, but at least has self-control!), mental-Agatha.
5. 7 becomes 1's boss for a week in some plausible fashion. How's their working
relationship?
Ninth over Miles? Hmm... Could go either way. They can't stand each other and there's lots of excitement, shouting and explosions, or they immediately become best buddies ...and there's a lot of excitement, shouting and explosions.
6. 2 finds him/her/itself inserted into 6's continuity. As far as anyone other than 2 or 6
is concerned, they've always been there. What role would 2 be presumed to have had in 6's
story, and could they fit in without going wonky?
Guy With Hat in Girl Genius? He might go insane... Unless he got to be an advisor or other high-level minion to the Baron or possibly one of the saner Heterodynes. A position that gives him a use for his intelligence (and his evil schemes) and still lets him be mean to people.
A role in Maxim's story? Heh, he could've been the Heterodynes' Jager recruiter. Talking people into something really painful? Fun!
7. 3 and 5 get three wishes. The catch is that they have to agree on all three wishes
before they get the benefits of any of them. What three wishes would they make?
Jenka and Richard?... They don't really sound compatible. Then again... a few villages and an army or two to play with they could both agree on. Oh yeah, and a good torture chamber, too! Or maybe just go all out and ask for a nice big war! ;D Yes, I think something could be worked out.
However, Jenka wouldn't agree to anything at all unless she got one of the wishes to herself, because she's NOT going to give up a chance for getting either a Heterodyne, or the Castle repaired if Agatha's already there, just for some particularly fun killing. Richard would probably be fine with that, especially after learning more about the Heterodynes and the Castle. So it all works out. For everyone except all the dead people.
8. 1 and 2 are brainwashed by a one-time artifact that works even on people immune to mind
control to attack and kill 4. They keep their normal personality, skills and competence
level, except any Code vs. Killing has been turned off. Can 4 survive? How?
Miles and Hat vs. Mark. That's HARD! Miles does have a mercenery fleet, which should help, but Mark is really good at disappearing. And at killing people who come after him. I'm not sure how much Hat would help. With the fleet communications, decoding things and such, I suppose. Anyway, I really have no idea how that would go.
9. 6, 7, 9 & 10 must help an orphanage full of small and depressed children have a merry
Christmas. Who does what, knowing that at the very least the kids will be expecting a
visit from Santa?

Oh, that would work really well! elf could be Santa (it's his life calling, really!), Agatha would make completely amazing toys, and Ninth would run around, tell stories, do tricks and play games (probably all at once). Maxim is purple, fanged, and generally inherently fascinating. If he was in a good mood, he could be quite funny too, and would probably enjoy showing off. In a bad mood, at least he'd obey Agatha if she told him to go stand in the corner and be quiet.
10. 3 and 8 are challenged to circumnavigate the Earth in eighty days or less, using only
forms of transportation invented before 1900. Can they do it, or will they be fatally
distracted by side quests or their own personality conflicts?
