Hmm, have to learn some more about this The Sky Tides roleplay-type game people are playing... Looks like a lot of fun, but I'm still a bit confused about how it all works. Will spend the evening reading all the information and see if that helps.

P.S. Don't know how to make the name a link, and temporarily too lazy to find out.

Thank you! I'm still in the middle of reading everything, but I do have a few questions:

1. How did all of you playing GG characters adapt the backstory to the TST world? I'd pick a GG character too, so I'm going to have to think about this.

2. Do the people playing communicate OOC to roughly decide what's going to happen, or is it mostly just done IC on the fly? I've done paper-and-pencil RPGs quite a lot, but this seems fairly different, so I'm not clear on how it works in practice.

3. I've never tried writing fiction, so I'm not really sure about the amount of fiction-writing ability required for this. Are most of the people on TST fanfic authors or such? (I'm guessing not, but would rather avoid embarassing myself)

1. At the current place in game, the storyline is set 5 years in the future from current GG storyline. GG canon applies (except for the ridiculous slashiness that Gen and I write, since that's non-canon). Der Kestle is still not entirely repaired, but Agatha's heard rumors about Bill and Barry having been sighted again, and so, five years ago, sent the Jagers off to look for them. The Boyz and Jenka split up to go looking, and thus far, only Dimo, Mamma, and Maxim have managed to find each other again, as far as Jagers go. We had an Agatha for a short while, but her player lost the inspiration to write her. Currently, we have Maxim, Dimo, and Mamma on the 4423, and Zeetha on the Winding Way. Let me know if I can answer anything else more specific for you ( ... )

1. Got it. Where did all the GG events happen, geographically?
2. Okay, AIM account. Done. I'll see if I can get it into my LJ account.
3. That's good. And yes, I expect there's a good chance of this pulling me into fanfic. Wouldn't mind...

Aaand a couple more questions:
4. Did someone already get blanket permission from the Foglios to play GG characters in TST, or should I bug them about it? (TST info says to ask)
5. Do you think Jenka is enough of a developed character to play?
6. Should I make a separate LJ account for the character?

...Am I overthinking this?
