Onomatopoeia aside, I can not recall the last time I had a good whinge. More importantly, you can not recall, either. So enjoy!
Universal: You Suck. Wait folks, I mean the movie studio and not a "universal 'you suck' to you all" (because that would just be mean, know wha' I mean?). No, I was just going to post about how much the American Gothic DVD sucked but since it was released by Universal, I'm just going to make it one big whinge instead of a few little ones.
See, I remember American Gothic being hailed as the best thing since Twin Peaks. Sure, it was only five years after and highly derivative but that's what television is: it's five years after something else. I also recall friends with respected opinion recommending the show. So when an opportunity presented itself to purchase the series, I jumped (or clicked (or got a friend to click)).
Now, DVD sales have been arrived for a while now, so you'd think that distributors would have learnt from everyone's mistakes: Well, was I mistaken? Yes, I was. Universal decided to release the episodes that made it to air first, leaving four un-screened episodes to the end. Shame it put the end sequence completely out of whack, and by that I mean:
I'VE WATCH THE END OF THE STORY AND STILL HAVE THREE EPISODES TO GO.
That's dumb. It's just too dumb for further adjectives.
Oh ... and ... err ... oops. I was planning on complaining about Transformers only being released on HD DVD but that's Paramount's stupidity, though Universal are currently making similar errors.
Hmm. I think this post deserves a cut.
