My absences are now justified

For the record, iff I fail to attend an event this week, it is due to having chicken pox.
That's right, kids: I'm poxy. But you knew that already.

damn.
my advice is go to the doc asap, and shell out for the meds, cost me about $140, but well worth it, shaved about 2 weeks off the sickness, and left me with no scars.

What meds? The information my doc gave me said there's nothing you can take and that it should only take a week or so. How did you shave two weeks off what is a less than two week period?

Also, I thought I was fine until the itching started this afternoon. OH GOD THE ITCHING.

Zovirax or something. I was out for a month, and it was over a week before I realised it was the pox. and i was getting worse by the day til I got the meds. Donny got it the same time as me, and he didnt take it, was sick for 2 weeks more and he still has some dots.

Well, it seems to be an old coincidence, because my strain probably came from Vietnam. (I blame the monkey on Monkey Island.) I was fatigued for about two or three days (which I thought was jetlag) and now I'm just itching all over.

I hear Pinetarsal, or something, can really take the edge off.

Are you recovered now?

...

You've never had chicken pox before? Holy shit Schmy, I had no idea!

God this is going to suck for you. The itching, the popping, the scars. Don't pick them - they scar like fuckers. The whole thing is godawful. Are you putting on the lotion, in the basket?

:(

I've never had the pox previously.
The itching is not so bad. I have been putting on a lotion and then putting it in the basket only to put some more lotion on. My head is the worst as my hair is doing the scratching for me. Might get the clippers out.

On the plus side: sick leave can now pay for movie watching and internet browsing. Woo-woot!

You poor little bugger.

Do you have a bad case? I remember I had pox when I was 7 or 8, and sitting down was the worst - you could feel the pox bursting. Yuck!

But YAY for staying home and watching movies/doing crap!

I love you, so much.

It doesn't appear to be a bad case. I don't feel that unwell. I could potentially go to work if it wasn't for the itching and contagion. But I'm not going to work.

I love you and miss you too!

You're laughing at my discomfort? Fair enough.

I should have frozen this post; every time I come back, I get itchy.

I got the pox at 14, much later than most people did. My problem was the itching, mainly, and I scratched so much I left scars. Try not to scratch, if possible.
