Bringing back the legacy printing dialogue in Windows 11

If you dislike the default printing dialogue in Windows 11 - say, because you don't like the extra clicks necessary to select a page range to print - and would like to bring back the old one, it's possible to do this by setting a registry key.

Specifically, in the registry editor, navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Print\ ( Read more... )

I hadn't really thought about that! I don't have a printer configured for my desktop, I don't know what the W11 print dialog looks like! I'll definitely have to Memory your post, thank you!

It's a little ridiculous that the new dialogue requires several extra clicks to select page ranges to print (surely that's a common use case?), but I'm even more baffled that bringing back the old requires fiddling with registry keys.

At least the DLLs/menus are still there, just a bit buried.
