I do like the pain scale concept but - not sure if it's a problem with me or with it - I do sorta feel what they were saying as far as it being normal to underestimate where you'd fall on that. I don't consider myself "in pain" much at all, but I've been having things they rank as 6-7 going on for years

The scale, like any, is primarily a diagnostic tool, for self-assessment or professional assessment (but when it comes to pain that basically just boils down to self-assessment again). Even where solutions exist, it can't offer one.
I hope you don't mind a non sequitur and I recall you weren't the biggest fan of the south but have you been to Stuttgart? Forgot if I asked you this already
I'm going to be there during GalaCon. My original plan was for my first international MLP con to be one of the Moscow ones but... Yeah. Have you been to any of the German cons?

Stuttgart has a big zoo, BTW. I visited when I was little and had lots of fun. Might be something to do on an extra day!
