Compulsive eating is as much of a valid problem as anorexia or compulsive gambling. It really is an illness for many people. The fact that there's a network of support groups for it doesn't make it pathetic at all; it means that it's a common enough and serious enough problem that people are interested in helping each other solve it.

And boo to anorexia. That's bad for you, too, and curvy women are cuter than scrawny women.

Feel free to make the joke all ya'll want. But I don't know that whatever's wrong with me is quite so bad as to be categorized as compulsive eating.

If it makes you feel better, I spend a lot of my discretionary money each month on food. Whether it's trying something new at the grocery store, or going out with people from work, I spend way more than I should each month on food. On the other hand, I figured I might as well enjoy what I eat. I still end up spending more money every month eating out than I do on movies, video games, and other entertainment combined.

Nom foods!! I'd rather you eat too much than die of starvation.
