"I don't have a good rememory"

There are some people out there that can remember anything. I don't get those people. Hell, I've even been told I was one of those people, even if I think that's a crock. Remembering to do things is hard! It seems like most of my life is made up of the equation of them saying, "Did you remember to do X?" and then me making a face similar to ( Read more... )

Post-it Notes. I go through them very quickly. I also write on my hands and arms as well as in the margins of my notebooks in class. If I write it down I remember it usually. Yay for proving science right! I've also been known to tell people to remind me.

Sometimes I think the process of freaking out to remember is more important than the reminders.

I love checklists. They are efficient and they make me feel like I'm accomplishing so much.

I write things on my palm if I need to remember them for short times, and I try to carry scratch paper to write down things that I need to remember for longer periods. "Water the plant" goes on my hand, because I'll do that as soon as I get home. "Call job place tomorrow" would get washed off my hand before I did it, so I write it on paper.

Synesthesia is an amazing tool. I don't know why the brain does that, but the fact that it does is pretty cool.

It's only cool to people who don't have it.

Imagine looking at the world your whole life, and then one day someone being all "ohoh, you see this thing and I don't" Just because I know I see it now, doesn't mean that it isn't the most mundane thing in the world to me at this point.

I just remember things. Usually I remember things I have to do by remembering when I have to do something, by using the time I've got left till I need to do something I tend to remember them.
The countdown is the key.

I've come to terms with not being able to remember things, so I just try to get it done as soon as possible before I forget. Other than that, a list is the best I can do.

That said, my brain has a remarkable ability for connecting things that make no sense into reminders.
