They might be putting my dog Rusty to sleep tomorrow. He's limping really badly from bone cancer, and obviously in pain (so I've heard

I wish I had something more to offer you than a cheesy online hug, but that's all 3,000 miles and the interweb will allow, so... *hug.*
Also? Silly teasing postcards aside, I hope you know that I really, really loved staying with you in NYC, seeing you in your new element and hearing your compositions. It was surreal, but amazing. I wish I could do it more often, but alas, my bank account will not allow for it. But I really do miss you! I'll echo Jen's cheesy online hug plus a lot of real, invisible sympathy. It's *really* hard to lose an old pet, and I imagine that it's even harder when you're not actually at home. (crap. here I go remembering Martha.)

Oh no, I'm so sorry...Strange synchronicities like that happen at the most unbelievable times, but maybe its a sign that things will be alright for your dog too in the end. If you believe that things like that are not just mere coincidences, than maybe it will bring you a little bit of peace. When loved ones die, people often report strange things, like their loved one is trying to communicate with them. Maybe your dog was trying to say goodbye to you through that twist of fate. But its easy for me to sit here and say feel better and alot harder for the person with the loss to actually feel better. Oh well...I haven't spoken to you in a while, so I hope things as good as they could be under the circumstances.
