Glad to see you posting again! Did you manage to get all signed up for otakon already? (Sat is the deadline for the prereg at lower price... We'll be registering tomorrow, I hope...)
I'm surprised you guys are going, what with the new baby and all. We've got our room reserved, but we've been leaning heavily towards canceling this year for financial reasons. We're still holding on to the hope we can scrape together the cash, but odds are we may not go. :(
it will be our 1st weekend w/out Kenny... (We're trading him for my sister for the weekend - my parents got her a vocaloid costume for Xmas for her to wear to the convention this year, so we've had an implicit babysitting arrangement since then - which we have, indeed, confirmed...) I'm stressing about dealing with some of details of not having him with me, but I think it will work out alright...
Unfortunately, it's the closest thing to a real vacation we're going to get this year... We're taking a week in August to go to Upper Michigan with Kenny, but that's going to be more about family than fun. (tho we might be able to stop in Pittsburgh sometime around then, depending on how well he travels at that age... we haven't figured out the logistics of it yet).
I'm not sure if you all not going will affect our plans, but I'll check with Drew... (Seeing you all is certainly one of the highlights of Otakon for us!)
Will you know soon one way or another? Have you preregistered yet?
