[The dreamberry clicks on, and the face of the man that peers into it is excited...Though if one looks closely, there is a fresh, spreading bruise across one of his temples.
He had a bit of a run-in with a malicious scarecrow. Still, his excitement is unmistakable.]
Goodness, is this--
It is recording my voice, isn't it? But such a device has only

It's powered by something called a 'battery' which typically combines two or more cells full of electrically charged chemicals in order to produce a current.

...A 'battery'? How utterly fascinating! Do you know where I might find one of these batteries? I would prefer to avoid taking this device apart before discovering all of its functions...

You should be able to find a battery in the nearest store. They're pretty much everywhere. Stores that sell general merchandise, groceries, and drug stores all have them.

[Aaaand the call is cut off. And Canas doesn't understand the device well enough to know how to call someone back, unfortunately, much as he's been fiddling with it.]

Oh, my name is Canas. It's nice to meet you...?

[He grins.]
Why do you ask?

There was a scarecrow, and it took me by surprise. I hadn't expected there to be semi-sentient, man-made creatures here, though truly, that is quite fascinating, really.

The bruise adds character, though. Where'd you get it?

Dreams? That would agree with the information the other--
Unicorn tails and the blood of virgin sacrifices...? That would be a rather unefficent source of power, wouldn't it?
[Then he laughs a little sheepishly.]
Oh, well, I hadn't expected the scarecrow to move. Though the small fact that they can really opens up many possibilities for further studies!

Not really. Have you tried them? Blood magic is pretty powerful, you know.
Eh? You should be more careful! Even the roses here are known to be poisonous sometimes.

Magic through the use of blood? I've never heard of such a practice. How does it work, exactly? How is it powerful, exactly? In offensive abilities, or--
...Poisonous roses? Really?
