my bosses offered me an additional set of responsibilities and commensurately higher pay in exchange for more committment to the company. they didn't go so far as requiring a contract or anything, but they'd like me to verbally commit not only to doubling the amount of things i'm responsible for here, but also planning to stay at the company more ( Read more... )

take the pseudo-promo. i mean in all honesty, you can still leave the door open for escape if you're not being required to sign any contracts. jobs are there to make money, quit, and move on. that's what i say.

i did mention that i was and have been looking into school and they didn't say anything like NO YOU CAN NEVER GO TO SCHOOL or anything so i think i will be okay

since there is no contarct...maybe take the promotion and still work on going back to school if that's what you want. and because of no contract, if and when you decide to quit they can't say your in breach of contract. this way a new door can still open up and present itself to you:)
