Neal Stephenson is my favorite author, by the way. I'm currently just finishing The System of the World, which is third in a three part series that he finish last september. It's quite good, but keep in mind that each book is about 900 pages long, so it's an investment. But it's awesome. You should read Snow Crash by him if you haven't, it's fantastic.

What about "Hell Meets Henry Halfway," that glorious example of avant-garde theater, and why I hate all of it?

Cool plays! I wish I saw more of them. I really enjoy it, but it's much more of an investment of time, effort and money than, say, sitting at home and letting Netflicks ship me a DVD. Hehe, I guess in those ways musicals are like porn. Except I don't know any woman who get sexual pleasure out of them, but whatever. I don't even always care about the singing, I like the dancing. What's the general plot (s?) of Cryptonomicon? Sounds interesting.
