Our house is overrun with tiny ants.

They are on the kitchen table.

They are pouring out of a crack in the kitchen windowsill.

When I turn on the faucet, they fall out of the fixture.

They are on my bedroom floor, very interested in the front right leg of my dresser.

Sometimes they are on my cat.

Halp.

Diatomaceous earth, sprinkled liberally in their path and around wherever they're getting in. It's safe for the cat and for you, but it will kill them. It works faster if the house isn't too humid -- because it works by piercing their carapaces and drying them out.

Current humidity: 96%.

Sigh.

I am calling the landlords tomorrow. Even the stuff that usually works for us is failing. I think the ants are evolving into SuperAnts.

I shudder when I remember what happened to that poor family in Missouri.
But that couldn't happen in New England...

It's really too horrible to talk about.
I shouldn't have mentioned it.
At least it happened in their sleep...

I would have fallen over dead right now from anxiety and they would be nibbling my corpse. You are a braver and calmer woman than I am.

Our house is overrun with tiny ants.

Best size for 'em, if you ask me. The 50' high radioactive ones are a bitch.
