avoidable panic needs to be avoided.

the following tuesday, a contract worker came in and around lunchtime i overheard her chatting with her doctor, asking if she was in danger of the swine flu, "no, i was not actually in contact with this person - there was a 4-day break between when he got sick and when i started. no, i'm not showing any symptoms. no, nobody else is sick. should i come in for a blood test anyway?"

i just shook my head and walked away.
